Job Description: Assist in reviewing AFP member scholarship applications for education/training, new members and other special scholarships. Very rewarding job as you get to help people!

Time Required: Mostly virtual committee meetings as we all review applications and provide feedback. Committee will meet in person twice during the year.

Committee Name: Marketing Committee
Job Description: Have camera, will travel? The Marketing Committee is seeking a volunteer photographer to help publicize, promote, and commemorate AFP SVC’s programs and events. In particular, this volunteer will take digital photos throughout the year of our luncheon program(s), Mentorship Program participants, Collegiate Chapter activities, and other AFP SVC events. Photos will be displayed on the website, in our Report to the Community, and used in many other ways to help us demonstrate our contributions to the fundraising profession and to our Silicon Valley community.

Committee Name: Collegiate Chapter Committee
Job Description: Support efforts to jump start the AFP Silicon Valley Collegiate Chapter – the only one of its kind in California! Committee members are needed to help shape the future of the chapter. Activities include driving program development, engaging university staff, inspiring college students to consider a career in fundraising, growing student internship programming and connecting students with educational resources and meaningful experiences in the field.
Time Required: Approximately 6 hours per month (this includes 1 meeting and an average of 5 hours of support throughout the month)

Job Description: Opportunities for involvement include:

Luncheon/Workshop monthly program coordination
Helping with registration at monthly programs
Evaluation of monthly programs
Assist VP and VP-elect in identifying nationally recognized speakers to present on a relevant fundraising topic at one of AFP SVC's monthly luncheon programs

The program committee is a motivated group of volunteers dedicated to planning and executing stellar monthly programs for AFP Silicon Valley Chapter.

Committee Name: Foundation Every Member Campaign Committee
Job Description: Members of the committee will assist with the formulation of the tactical plan and timeline for the marketing and rolling out of the Every Member Campaign, member follow-up and recognition.
Time Required: 1-4 Hours/Mo. from February-August; 3-5 Hours/Mo. from September -December

Committee Name: Diversity Committee
Job Description: The Diversity Committee is looking for members who can be involved for specific projects or on a year-long basis. Projects include:

Planning mixers
Brainstorming ideas for Diversity Moments at monthly chapter luncheons
Planning the diversity luncheon program
Compiling online diversity resources

Year-long involvement includes helping with one of the previously mentioned projects and attending monthly committee meetings to help with overall planning. This is a great volunteer opportunity for those who need a flexible commitment but are interested in increasing diversity in our chapter and profession.
